Initially I was relieved to see that there was not much material about me in “LR”. A Connoisseur’s Guide to Dark Culture. Is this book a part of some personal vendetta or what? Gavin Baddeley is a Reverend in the Church of Satan, so he obviously knows what he’s writing about and has done research on the subjects written in the book. Satan seems like a bit of a joke after reading this. While the book gives a decent overview of the presence of the devil in 20th century pop culture, it feels more like a loosely knit collection of interviews and essays on the subject than it is a book with a head and a tail.
They don’t worship the Baedeley, Satan, or God. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it. Perhaps Baddeley haven’t heard about the Gulf Stream, or perhaps he believes baddelsy is just a German car? Of all my books, I suspect this is most overdue an update…. Not that this was horrible, it was just kind of mediocre. There are also lots of interviews with many “Satanists” and bands that have been deemed “Satanic”, some of them were really unintentionally hilarious too.
The contents of the so-called interview is kind of odd too.

Some people might think there are polar bears walking around in the streets, or that we all live in igloos, but the fact is that Norway’s climate is temperate, and especially in my hometown we have very mild winters and cool summers.
Organized into three parts—”The History of Satanism,” “Satanism in 20th-Century Culture,” and The Satanic Millenium [ sic ]”—much of the book is composed of interviews with a wide variety of personages associated with either the Satanic religion or its concomitant aestheticincluding Anton Szandor LaVeyKenneth Angerand Kerry Bolton. Sadly, the whole thing is too heavily weighed down by Badderley’s thinly veiled devotion to Anton LaVey, then head of the Church of Satan.
