I just hope somebody out in this fourm world that can give me an insight about how these pair of manuak work. Does it work bad or work wonders? Kbl mix down in an apartment in one room to record and mix down. I bought them right after they introduced the models you speak of.

The digital eq and RTA “auto” tuning stuff didn’t appeal to me. I like my JBLs. I just want to know if the JBL I’m refering to tells jvl an accurate response overall for studio monitors and does it really help with the RMC add on. I have heard them in different environments, and they seem to adjust well.

I’d say they are a safe purchase if you are considering them.

They have a seemingly flat response after sampling the room and they sound pretty good too. I have mixed down with these speakers before. I just have a small little room to mix down I just want to know how does it sound when its mastered. I use TrueRTA 3.

I would be glad to test drive the new ones but have yet to see any. I have the ‘s with the RMC. More detailed than I expected.

However the bass is somewhat lacking, even in the 8’s. I may decide to pick up their sub and connect them via the ethernet so it can be factored into the RMC.

First I am going to check into the EQ settings. It may have overcompensated for my room.

Thank you for that link. It gave me confidence to know that these speakers actually do work. Even from a pro reviewing these bad boys lol I know now that my mixes do sound adequetly good. I’m just a beginning of mixing down hip-hop music. If you’re doing hip-hop or anything that’s bass-heavy, consider adding the sub. We’re doing heavish rock, and the sub made a big difference in the accuracy of the mix. I could not agree more. I am not doing hip hop or rock, but even with synth sounds and acoustic bass I like to be able to hear it accurately, and so far I am just not getting enough bass.

This may be more of a problem with my room.

Other people have reported that that bass on the 8″ LRSP’s is just fine, so I really suspect it is monitoring environment. But for the 6″ version you definitely will want a sub, IMHO. Right now I do not have money for a sub really lol.

I only mix down tracks but with already-composed instrumentals and be my vocals over it. I do hip-hop so its just common for me to purchase a beat, and record over it Tonytc9 Max Output Level:
