The one thing that didn’t ring true was how Darius would call her honey and baby The threat to me is often quite unnecessary if the h has a head screwed properly. Like fellow readers, one thing I really like in this book is the fact that the conversion was done at the h’s decision, and better yet, insistence. I like this in him as he appreciates the h as she is and is even willing to sacrifice himself for her.
Carpathians are a powerful and ancient race who are near-immortals living for thousands of years with powers and gifts that no man can fathom.
I’ll keep reading the series just to see who they link up next and hoping there will be a twist we don’t see coming. I’ve been a writer all of my life — it feeha who I am. It was satisfying to complete another section of the series, but if I read this as feehhan first Carpathian book I would have put it down and never picked up another.
And that and much more is what we see as part of this plot. I like the idea of the good guys being mistaken for evil because they look and act a lot like vampires.

However, I do finally get something I want: The premise of the over-bearing male and the capitulating female still irritates me a bit; however, since the author hasn’t actually had the heroine ‘running in high heels through a darkened alleyway only to fall when one of her heels breaks’ yet, I’m still hopeful in the end we will end up with different but equal.

There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Un duro colpo difficile da superare. Every time he said, “honey”, it threw me out of the story.
In this book the story over all is pretty good but the main character woman is TSTL and although preaches being a self sufficient being, she just isn’t. I may have to go on a hard core scifi or non-fiction binge after this to get the taste out of my mouth. And my favorite part is her conversion.
Dimitri Tirunul — another ancient Carpathian mentioned briefly for the first time in a conversation between Jacques and Shea in Dark Desire plot. An enjoyable read, nothing too different, I kept hoping they would bring Gregori into it since I am anxious so read his meeting with ferhan lost brother and sister.

I do not recommend reading this books like this to any but the most hard core romance fans. Now, since her death would mean Darius’, it really should be a decision they make together, but of course he doesn’t want to risk it and doesn’t mention it at all. I like this series. Im taking the responsibility for a chfistine.
