I was drawn to the accessible, trendy writing style of this really quick read. Or tidbits thrown in that had me thinking, “wait, what? I know that this is a fiction book but you can bet that this kind of stuff does actually happen.
Write what you know. She was inconsistent, selfish, and annoying. I am no longer a teacher schoooled Dalton, so no one can fire me. But she’s really shocked when she is encouraged by other teachers and the parents not to ask questions. The story made me curious about an educational world that was previously unfamiliar to me, scholed it left me glad that I have never been a part of it.
I think it was partly the fear of running into this world that made me change my mind about becoming a teacher I recommend this book to anyone, especially teachers, who I think would really relate to this book.

The biggest weakness of the book, to my eyes, is how bland the writing is It makes sense that Anna was such a shitty teacher because Anna is lakhabi an expy of the author, who apparently was also a shitty teacher.
While both Nanny Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada include a man for the main character to lust after, Anna’s got enough going on that she doesn’t need a relationship to drive the action of the story, a true rarity in chic lit.

Eye-opening book and crude in places. My library Help Advanced Book Search. Sure, she spends a lot of time talking about cloths and designers and shopping, but the material wealth Anna gains has a lot more symbolism than your average Chanel clutch.
It was painful trying to aniisha through this book.
After graduating from Columbia University inMs. I read this book in one day, so that’ll tell you it was entertaining and for the most part, well written.
Sfhooled public school myself but spent a year at a high school where at least of half the student body came from money that allowed them to drive expensive cars and wear only the latest fashion.

Sep 22, Shasta rated it it was ok. I was totally sucked in and could not believe what the characters went through just to get a buck. Any real teacher would take those three hours to prep!!!!! But the premise was so close to my heart, and Lakhani really nailed it, that I would even give this schoo,ed stars if my integrity weren’t at stake. Apr scjooled, Michelle rated it really liked it.
